MY BEAUTIFUL MOTHER
My beautiful Mother, a pure soul, the only one
In this whole world, nobody like her, none
Loves me, no matter what age
Always been there on my life’s page
As an infant Cuddling & Caressing
Infinite love in her tender nursing
As toddler nurturing my Cuts & Wounds
Jumping at my whimpering Sounds
As a Young child of eight & nine
Helping in all difficult tasks of mine
Protecting me from my father’s fury
Hiding me behind her, in a flurry
As a Frightened & Shy Young adult
With infinite patience & understanding the cult
Stepping brightly beside me out in the city
To face the Peers at my college so nasty & witty
Singing my favorite lullaby for me to sleep
With lovely precious memories for me to keep
Soothing my fears with wonderful gentleness
Feeling so secure in my mother’s softness
She has a tender heart that I treasure
She is compassionate & her love so pure
I cherish her as nobody like her, there is!
A wonderful blessing from Allah! My beautiful Mother is!

TRUE LOVE
A pretty sight, steady gaze, his eyes speak volumes
A big red vermilion bindi matching the tone of my red chiffon saree
Wrapped delicately revealing the sensuous curves
My hair in a messy bun adorned with the fragrant jasmine buds
More than a dozen red glass bangles in both my hennaed hands
Making delightful sounds, the glass bangles clinking he so loves
A few strands of hair playing on my forehead
His fingers touch my hair softly caressing
My silver anklets catches his attention
Merrily jiving as if rejoicing our love
The subtle perfume in the air makes one heady
Romantic atmosphere
Intoxicating the senses
Scintillating melodies only a heart hears
Swiftly he takes me up in his arms swaying me gently
Kiss me passionately on my quivering lips
Tears of gratitude well up in my eyes
My being grateful, for the joys of true love!

High from the mountainous way
Smoothly flowing rivers at bay
Cascading in waterfalls
Roaring down the mighty falls
Surrounded by coniferous trees
Magnificent flying Eagles sprees
A wonderful book of magical earth
Amidst the clouds of fantasy mirth
Gathering a vast Knowledge of life
Importance of living with Nature's bounty
Our life essence is in cohabiting With the flora and fauna
A lesson for Humans to adhere
Or else our earth would die!

'Quarantine' in Latin means forty days
It is a known fact that the number 40 represents 'change'
A person if desires can make a fundamental change in his life
To let go a persistent habit perhaps
Our Earth too needs a drastic makeover
It has been abused for decades
Man in his selfish ways
Eroded the core mantle
Demolishing trees in scores
Occupying lands of the wild
Nowadays with people in lock down
Our Earth is breathing
Rivers are cleaner
Vegetation greener
The air is pure
Less pollution
The Earth is healing
The Earth is at a much needed rest
Peoples hearts are transforming
Filled with love
Compassion
The earth is not dead-not yet
Nor are its people!
