Day Twenty-Three NAPOWRIMO#23 HOMING PIGEONS

Day Twenty-Three

NaPoWriMo#23
Prompt: Animal
HOMING PIGEONS
Every morning a bunch of pigeons come to enjoy a sip
And take a dip in the water bowl kept for them
To tolerate the unbearable sun
The scorching heat of Indian summers
Sometimes to eat grains from a small bowl refilled
With fresh tidbits for them near the kitchen window
Its a lovely sight to see the pigeons dancing
Rotating on the spot after the feed
Pleasant to hear pigeons coo cooing
To communicate with each other
Once two Pigeons were coo cooing
To attract each other was an heartwarming sight
The other day pigeons from the
Neighborhood came to eat too
But were driven away by jealous lot loud cooing
And frontal attack to defend their territory
Initially the pigeon used to make a grunting noise
As they were frightened of us
But later as they had familiarized with us
They kept on eating oblivious to our filling the bowls
They have a different shrill cooing sound
As an alarm to warn others of potential danger
The most endearing act was on the day
When the refill was delayed for an hour or so
All the regulars decided to cooing
At the top of thair beaks complaining of the delay
Their thanking in softer coo cooing after eating
Was amusing as well as a delightful feeling
Secured, full of warmth and love
Our home has become a home for the pigeons too
